Amerisource Makes 2001 Houston 100 List

Houston, TX – For the second consecutive year, Amerisource announces that it has been recognized as one of Houston’s 100 fastest growing private companies by the University of Houston Small Business Development Center for fiscal year 2000.
The Houston 100 rankings were announced today at a celebratory luncheon at the George R. Brown Convention Center in downtown Houston. Over 1,000 people in the Houston area business community attended the luncheon, which was sponsored by Comerica Bank, Southwestern Bell, the Houston Business Journal and the Greater Houston Partnership.
Amerisource was honored for several other awards at the luncheon as well, including #2 for highest revenue growth, as well as runner-up for the Southwestern Bell Award for revenue growth and jobs creation. Amerisource posted revenues in excess of $75 million in fiscal year 2000 and revenue growth of 211 percent (211%) over the three-year period.
The Houston 100 is an annual index created and released by the University of Houston Small Business Development Center and published by the Houston Business Journal. The index celebrates the 100 fastest growing privately held businesses in the greater Houston area, as measured by revenue growth over the previous three-year period.
