Amerisource Runner-Up for 2001 Southwestern Bell Award

Houston, TX – Amerisource announces that it was runner-up for the 2001 Southwestern Bell Award for revenue growth and jobs creation.

The award was announced today at the annual celebratory luncheon at the George R. Brown Convention Center in downtown Houston.  Over 1,000 people in the Houston area business community attended the luncheon, which was sponsored by Comerica Bank, Southwestern Bell, The Houston Business Journal and the Greater Houston Partnership.

The Southwestern Bell Award for revenue growth and jobs creation is an annual award sponsored by Southwestern Bell.

Amerisource was honored for several other awards at the luncheon as well, including making The Houston 100 list and ranking #2 on the list of absolute revenue growth of companies in the greater Houston area for fiscal years 1998-2000.  Amerisource posted revenues in excess of $75 million in fiscal year 2000 and revenue growth of 211 percent (211%) over the three-year period.
